Posts: 102 Parkersburg WV | Hi All, I just finished installing the tail light mod from Gary. Installation was not too hard. This was the 1st time I had taken the trunk off and tail light section apart. Watching all the videos on you tube and other places really helped me I have the CB so there were a few steps not covered in the videos. I found a tip (the hard way ) that I want to pass along to you.
Before unpligging the wire that connects the passenger controls mounted in the trunk for volume and PTT be sure to take a small wire tie and tie it to the trunk spearker wire harness beside it. I did not know this and after unplugging it it went back up inside the trunk. I had to pry the outer trunk from the inner trunk a bit and hold a light and peek in there to find it. Then I had to use a spring loaded fishing tool to snatch it and get it back out. Now next time I take the trunk off I won't have to worry about retrieving the wire harness.
Gotta say the tail light mod is very high quality and simple to install. Now my Vision sequences just like my Mustang does.

Posts: 112 Denver, Iowa | I bought the tailight and front signal mods as well. They both were completely 'plug-and-play'. I already had my bike de-skinned, so the rear was really easy to install before I put the bike back together. And the front...even though it is a bearcat to get the front lights out of their sockets, I still managed to install it in about 10 minutes, tops. I was a little squimish about the pricetag, but both wiring harnesses are 'factory quality' pieces of work. Very well built, indeed. I didn't know of any videos for the install... I just followed the directions. Yes, I said it... I followed the directions. |
