Posts: 5 Fort Myers, FL United States | Hey Guys/Gals I did the Thrush mod and love it i went wiht the straight tips but love these turn downs, might go that way, looks sweet, also I saw this post on the VOG.net in reference to the Thrush mod was wondering if anyone who has done this has had this problem I wont mention the poister in the VOG.NET site just the Post "
Fellas, I gotta update this thread.
While the sound was great and it looked great, I ended up taking them off and going back to stock for two reasons.
One: I live in a nice neighborhood with one really great neighbor who's bedrooms are about 30' from where I warm up my bike early and I don't want to be annoying to her.
And two: The heat shields were discoloring from heat. When I removed them I noticed the paint on the Thrush on the whole first half was burning off from heat!
During the process I took the whole back exhaust section off the bike and ripped out the catalytic converters. Every bike I've done this on ran cooler and had better snap to the throttle. Then I put the stock muffs back on.

| Very cool, it's different and it works, not an easy combo to achieve. When you did the Thrush muffler mod, did you install the entire muffler or gutt it and install just the glass and baffle? The reason I ask is that I did it the second way and they have a nice deep tone that's not too loud, there's no heat problems and the heat shields go right back on. It's like having Atom Bombs but with perforated rather than louvered baffles. |

| JB where did you get those turn downs? I've been looking for those type for quite a while now and just seemed to turn up empty handed. |

Will add that I ran the cherry bomb set up for a while then went back to stock after growing tired of the sound on long trips.
