Posts: 41 Mena, arkansas / 12 vision | I spent some time with my dad today and we went for a little Christmas ride. Dad is now 63 and I have been riding behind him since I was 8 years old. By the time I was 9 we had hit every state west of the Mississippi. I am now 37 and still love to go riding with him. Dad is a mans man, and somebody I look up too and hope to flow his ways.
Our ride today was for him to test out the wife's new cross country. Dad is a harley guy and ride a 2011 road glide ultra with a stage one set up by our local tuner. Just wanted to share a little about my dad with all of you and would like to hear about your biker dad

Posts: 233 flagstaff, AZ | Your Dad sounds like a great guy. I'm the biker dad of the family, and my youngest has been on his own bike since he was 17 ( 5yrs ). We have riden Death Valley, Yellowstone, and over to the Dragon on some of our rides. I picked up my style of riding from my younger brother while he was in an M/C

Posts: 175 Hinton, Iowa | I too am the Biker Dad. My son and I have been riding Vics together since 2004. He is almost as crazy about Vics as i am. I am on my 4th one (08 Vision and 01 V92C DLX). He curently has a n 01 V92C that he has customized and switched over to a 116CI Freedom motor and a 00 V92SC with a 100 HP Hammer motor. We enjoy riding and working on the bikes together.
He also has a fascination for 4 wheelers, owning 4 or 5 and also collects old Kawasaki Triple cylinder (2 stroke) motorcycles. He picked up a new on yesterday on Craigslist. We went and picked it up yesterday.Christmas Day) Got s pretty nice little S1 250 cc Triple. It is great to have a hobby like motorcycling to bring us together. Ride Safe, Mike

He liked it and was surprised, how different it felt compared to my vision. Thought it was light and easy to handle, but wanted to take it on a longer trip and swap back and forth. |

Sounds like a good reason to visit the HD site to use their ride planner tool and start working out the route for your father/son trip.
My youngest son is riding my old bike and the times we've been able to tag along with each other are each special memories. Unfortunately the older boy isn't interested in riding so get-aways that we can all enjoy are a bit harder to plan. |

Posts: 447 Cleveland, GA | As with others here, I'm the biker dad of the family. But all three of my sons have bikes, as does my daughter and her husband. I've ridden with all of them and it is a lot of fun. My wife has a Ridley that I'm teaching her how to ride. Both my brothers ride, too. I had a couple of wild uncles who rode with their hair on fire. Their dad (my granddad) rode a three-wheel Cushman back in the 60s and 70s - because he only had one arm. He used an old truck mirror frame (with no glass) that he rested his stump on when he rode. |

Posts: 825 , WI | I bought my first new bike in 1973, a Ducati 750SS, I was 19. One day I came home from work and the bike was gone. No one else in the family rode so I was ready to call the cops and then I heard the bike coming up the street. My dad was riding it. He had been learning to ride on my bike........Hmmmm. After that he always had a bike. He rode until he was 81. On Father's Day in 2008 I asked him if he wanted to go for a ride to a VFW post. He served in the Army and Air Force so I thought he would enjoy it. We had a good time looking at the tank and jets that were on display. The ride there and back was only 30 miles but it really wore him out. The cancer he was fighting had taken most of his strength. This would be his last ride.

Posts: 337 san antonio, tx | My Dad (on the left), his brother, and a cousin back in the day! They had great stories to tell about their adventures on those bikes!
He loved the fact that Victory exists. I have a picture of him on my Kingpin, but I can't find it. It would go great with this one though.
I'm not sure what model bikes they are, or what year the picture was taken.
I accidentally posted this in the "front page" thread, but I love this picture, and this is a great thread. Sorry for the double post.
