Has anyone heard anything about a new bike that will be indroduced from victory in Dec or JAN? Also was talking to a dealer and they seemed to know that there may be some changes coming to victory. Any one heard anything?

I've had a few bikes over the years that had the windscreen mounted on the bars and wouldn't have another! Crosswinds and huge trucks and you better be adept at sailing a small sailboat 'cause you're going on a divergent ride. One of the reasons I don't even look at Miwaukee middle busters., looks nice but sure wants to be a Toad Ring

It is a stunning bike in person and is great to ride, had one at the dealership that I threw a plate on for a bit..... Still bought the Vision! Even if I had gone with a cross bike it would have be the XCT.

Looks pretty good, they'll probably sell quite a few. If I was gonna get a Victory other than a Vision I'd choose the new Cross Country Tour though........

A new bike wouldn't be out of line for Victory. When I talked to my contacts at Victory, they eluded to being bullish on the market and releasing a new model every 6 months for the next few years. I usually take this info with caution because it hasn't always been true and sometimes wonder if it's misinformation just to throw off competitors. That was told to me about 18months ago and since then they've released a new model (admittedly some had the same frame with different treatments) along that timeframe.

I do know that Victory has big plans extending well into the decade. The Vision was just the start of breaking the motorcycle mold.

the LE is old news. The positive thing about Victory trying to look mainstream is that it is still a Victory. If the public wants Vanilla ice cream, that is going to be on the menu even if you are trying to push strawberry. I've critisized Victory trying to be Harleyesque, but grant it folks, what do an manufacture got to work with beyond two wheels, a motor and a seat. I can pick any Victory out of a crowd of anything else, and there are some bikes starting to look like Victorys.

The Vision is still the mold breaker and the X-bikes are the ones that follow the bloodline with a more traditional look. The public still wants Vanilla, I'm just glad that Victory is the only one offering Strawberry, or in my case Black Cherry!

Based on past intro's, it will probably be a Cross Roads high ball or 8 ball. I'd bet on a CR High Ball. A totally new model intro, IMOP, is unlikely.

Ya'know.....I was riding a Vision this afternoon, and thought of this post. My X bike with frork mounted fairing, or my previous bikes with fork mounted shields; were never pushed around as much as a Vision. Side winds make the Vision feel like the bottom is being pushed out from below, and passing a large truck at speed produces a very scary wobble

You're hangin on too tight.  I can ride a 30kt crosswind with almost no pressure on the handlebars.  The chassis will shimmy but the tires will hold a 6" track all day long.  18 wheelers are nothing.

Only if you fight it, Kevin. I can pass in crosswinds with both hands in my lap ... except the Co-Pilot slaps me when I remove both hands.

Since my first fork-mount windscreen, I have hated pushing a barn door thru the air. The Vision is the BEST I have ever been on - so there. Nyah !!!!

agree - I've followed a tour bus passing two semi's using no hands except to bump up the speed on the cruise control. The Vision is a ride all to its own.

Oh come on. I agree they are a good bike, but I'm not stuck on the koolaid. Every time I ride a Vison in a heavy wind; I feel like the rear wheel bearings have gone bad. That includes putting 3000 miles on one from Seattle to Billings, and back in a week.

BTW I can GUARANTEE that it is not me holding the bars to tight. Been riding since I was NINE, and well know what happens to a stiff rider. I also regularly travel well into triple digits on my way to and from work

Not sayin' that. Some people are just ... not comfy - or something like that. I know people who get paid to drive - and can't drive shit. Mileage don't make a driver. Or years of experience. You just 'got it' or ya don't .

I guess I'm lucky, I have the '05 8-Ball with a windshield and don't remember the last time a cross wind or big truck scared me, one thing I've noticed is a little wobble at around 90 that I'm guessing comes from a slightly off center shield.

Ya'know.....I was riding a Vision this afternoon, and thought of this post. Kevin, that used to scare the hell out of me but once I got accustomed to riding the Vision I learned to loosen my grip and relax, I hardly ever notice it anymore.

I've only put 4,500 miles on my new to me 08 vision and I have not experienced anything like that. And I've had this thing maxed out and passed tons of trucks. I'm thinking something is wrong with the bike you were riding. I know a good wrench if you need one....

The first time I rode the Vision on the slab on a windy day it startled the poop out of me.
I love the Vision but that is an 850 pound sail!
Heck, it just makes it that much more exciting to ride.
Anyways, we don't waste much time riding on the slab. The slab is for cars.

No problem with wind.
Over 25,000 miles this year on my 2011 Vision covering all 48 contiguous States and a trip to Nova Scotia.
To check and see if your holding on too tight, pass an 18 wheeler with no hands at 70 MPH.
It will make a believer out of you.

Maybe an "adventure" type bike? These things are really selling well now, and it seems like it would be a good fit between Polaris' off road offerings and the Victory cruisers.

I have over 74,000 miles on my 2008 Vision and it is solid to the core in high wind. I have ridden in 50 mph wind in Washington State in the mountains by Yakama and I was only concerned of being blown off the bike but the Vision kept its line though it was leaning some. You will feel the find a little different on every bike. While most fork mounted fairing bikes a about the same so are most frame mounted fairing bikes like the Vision, Gold Wing, BMW 1200LT and Harley Road Glide.

KevinX is correct in that you get used to the difference. I have ridden all the frame mounted fairing bikes I mentioned and the Vision is by far the most solid, best handling bike. I prefer a frame mounted fairing over a fork mounted bike any day. You feel the strong winds a lot less on the Vision if you have the trunk off.

I've pointed this phenomena out previously regarding how the Vision get's pushed around by cross winds and turbulence more than any other bike I've been on. It definitely will move around side to side beneath you. The very fact that it insulates the rider so well from frontal winds means that something is taking the brunt of all that force.... and that would be the bike itself. While the rider doesn't get pushed around, the bike most certainly does. While most other bikes get pushed around from the top down, the Vision seems to get pushed from the bottom up. Once you get used to it, it isn't an issue, it's just different, and undoubtedly due to all the body work and how much wind "management" is being done. I will say that I've never experienced anything resembling "wobble" though.

I still wouldn't ride any other.... especially a Cross bike! LOL

I agree with Kevin. Im not saying its dangerous but I def noticed it on my vision and on pleanty of other visions during test rides. I love my XC but I loved my Vision more, when they make the bags bigger on the vision I will be back on it in a heartbeat!!

Maybe we need to start talking about oil......all these passionate opinions. There are bikes for everybody's riding style . I seem to remember the wind bothering me when driving my truck. Just depends on your comfort zone.

Gawd dammit this board it gettin more pathetic everytime i swing by. Some people dont like some bikes. Maybe thats why there are more than 1 to choose from. If someone doesnt like the way the Vision tracks in the wind why do you give a shit. If you like your bike you know how you like to ride it, no reason to tell someone who thinks differently they must not know how to ride, WTF. I got my bike, I love my bike, I ride my bike....if that doesnt work for someone else...I just hope they love their bike as much as I do mine. Ride on !
