If something was just working and isn't now, it's usually something fast and simple, too many folks start pulling stuff off and throwing parts around before discovering it's the light bulb. Basic troubleshooting and a teaspoon of deductive thought goes a very long way-have a cup of coffee tomorrow morning while you browse the wiring diagrams in the shop manual |

Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | there are NO bulbs to check in the speedo. how do i know? cause one of my bulbs burned out in the green (N) light and the entire dashboard had to be replaced.. and you dont even want to know what that costs if you dont have the extended warranty! |

Posts: 444 Bay of Gigs, WA | My dash lights quit in my Buick. I took it to the dealer. He said it was traced to the HVAC controls. I said "Huh. Makes perfect sense to me. I always route my light through the heater when the radiator isn't available." Turns out there's a branch that illuminates the heater buttons which shorted and caused a fuse to blow, taking all the other lights with it. A new boneyard heater control for 50 bucks, a 10 amp fuse, and I'm on the road to illumination again. In other words, look for something obvious, but don't forget to think out of the box these days, especially with a piece of equipment that's more like the inside of Mr. Data's head than a machine. |

Posts: 105 Columbia, TN United States | Well, today Polaris Star warranty authorized the repair and the dealer replaced the entire dash read outs, still no white backlight. I am out the $50 deductible and three trips to the dealer. Except for this issue, I still love my bike. |
