New to the forum...my Brother has a 2010 HD Ultra Classic loaded. I just recently picked a 2011 VV Silver/Black L1/S1, driver backrest, rest stock. Most of the guys I ride with have HD's, I am the only Victory rider out of 22 guys. Now everytime we go out, it's like the HD's are invisible!

Now they have all come up with the same excuse for riding HD when asked about which bike is better, "The VV is nicer, but the resale on a HD is much higher"

If that's there only reason for riding a lesser machine, I am glad I made the right choice! Wouldn't trade or sell my VV for anything! 2300 miles and counting!

BTW My Brother is considering stepping up to a Victory Vision...just asked me if I thought the Victory dealer would take his HD on a trade!!!

I'm with you. Cars and motorcycles are lousy investments no matter what brand. Buy it to ride it.

Ya I love the "back door" logic. It goes kind of like this....... "Sure the vision is a nice bike with a lot of good features, and maybe even more reliable, but I'm into the old school, and since I bought my bike just so I can get rid of it, I need as much resale value as I can get in a bike". LOL!!

Am I the only one that sees a problem here? We are going to have a ton of Victory dealerships going out of business because they can't unload their HD trade-ins.

In all seriousness, welcome to the "New Cool Kids Club." You will find this forum the more inviting than most and we welcome any and all questions.

For every extra dollar you get on resale, I get 100 miles of memories and attention that a Harley could never touch.

I know exactly what you mean!! All the guys in my club ride HDs except me. Back in 05 when I got my Kingpin it was trash talk all day long! I let Victory do the trash talking for me though. They quickly realized the potential of Vics! Needless to say, they dont give me much crap anymore. We still share some good healthy trash talking but its all done out of fun. There are even a few of the guys entertaining the thought of switching over to Victory!! Give your boys some time...

Its what ebay was designed for. My Vision went in for 10000 service and tyres at the weekend so I borrowed a 1200 Sporster the dealer had in. Found out why the guys were laughing when I left. Now made an appointment with my dentist to have the now missing teeth that fell out replaced.

My friends as well as my brother ride Harleys. They're in love with the idea. As one of them told me "I would ride a broke down Harley before I would ride anything else". And he does. And it breaks down.

Glad Polaris of Gainsville took my Harley as a trade. I had 56 K miles on it and could not get past that with anyone while trying to sell it. LOW MILEAGE Harleys have resell value from my experence. I started my relationship with Liandra as a long term commitment. We are going to test that 100 K transmission she has and then some.

I was tire kicking in my dealers showroom and there was a potential customer looking at bikes he asked if that "Huge Bike" in the lot was mine. I said yes it is my second Vision. He asked how do you like it ? I said I love it when both my bikes got drowned I had to have another Vision. He asked of what is on the floor here what would be your second choice ? I pointed to the Triumph T-Bird Storm. He than asked about a trade in HD on the floor?

My response great bike if you are a mechanic or know one well. He asked why do you say that ? I said when I drive to Daytona or Myrtle Beach I see Victory owners riding and 89% of HD's in trailers or on trucks.

Seems the guy really liked the HD he was waiting to test ride it. Hope I did not keep it from being sold
