I've finally almost worn out my first car tire.

It was a 185/55-16 Potenza G019 Grid.....I loved it.

Apparently they have discontinued this size......I cannot get it.

So Im left with changing brands or sizes.

Anyone run a 195/55-16 WITH a Hitch Doc?

I have a hitch doc installed and the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D Run Flat 175/60r/16 has been performing superb.

I have the Dunlop wintersport also.
How many miles did you get on the Potenza anyway?

Its at 23K right now.......quite a bit of that two up and/or pulling a trailer. Honestly it probably has another 5 or 6K left as Im just now approaching the wear bars but the bike is already as the shop with the ass end mostly disassembled so I was thinking about changing it now because it would be alot easier...........if I can find a tire locally.

A 195 will rub the hitch. Apparently unloaded without a passenger it is close to rubbing, but toss a passenger on and you are rubbing.

I think it was Songfan who figured this out a few years ago.

Just ordered a Goodyear Max Fuel Assurance in 175/60-16....the treadwear rating is off the charts so hopefully it lasts a good long time......its going to be hard to top the Bridgestone Potenza - that was a damn good tire.

Bump.. just curious if anyone successful was able to do a 195 with a hitch doc trailer hitch .. 195/55-16 has such a nice selection of tires compared to 185 and 175

Cannot attest to the hitchdoc, but have a hitch. I ran a Goodyear assurrance 195/55/16 and changed it at 22k. No rubbing and carry passenger occasionally.
Now running a Sumitomo of same size.

After a suggestion of another rider - who is on his 3rd and rides insanely aggressive - I'm putting a General GMax 195/55/R16 on my '12 Ness Vision (lowered - with a Bushtec Hitch).

I want to run a 195 , but in really don't want a all season tire .. i don't need to worry about traction etc ..id like to get a summer tire or high performance tire if possible , just as an example .. something like this, https://www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailV2&ccid=ZIBY9YuF&id=E4...

Great in wet conditions, etc, and no need for snow tread

Back in 2010 I installed a Falken Ziex ZE 512 195/50r-16. I ran it for the one season and pulled it off account of rub marks on the inside of the hitch doc.

Don't remember hearing or feeling it, noticed that the edge of tire looked somewhat polished. Then looked up a saw the metal on the inside of the hitch doc was shiney. The following year I installed the Dunlop SP winter sport 3d dsst rof and another one til they stopped making them. Just took off a Kumho Ecsta pa31 185/55r-16. I'm now going to install a Goodyear Assurance fuel max sl 175/60r-16.

The Kumho Ecsta pa31 185/55r-16 performed great. We 2up'ed on it Wisconsin-Wyoming-Colorado-Wisconsin. I wore the center out first probably to much air pressure, ran dyna beads, with a Battlax up front with ride-on. This time for our September Tennessee trip I'm going to run the Goodyear Assurance with ride-on and a Metzler z8 roadtec 140/70zr-18 with ride-on.  Any reason you didn't go with the Goodyear Assurance again? Or just want to try something different?

That's a great question.. no smart reason not to go with the 175 fuel max. For some reason i remember it was more expensive than i thought it should of been . I think I was just looking for a smart tire that's designed for grip and rain... not that the fuel max didnt do well

Looks great with nice features, however the 55 height profile with that 195 width would rub the inside of the hitch doc...damn.

How much of the fabulous cornering characteristic does the Vision lose going dark side?

At 32-34psi none for me. I do counter-steer a bit more than on bike tires. Been on lots of twisty roads.
