New Bohemia, VA | Other than just wearing a helmet forever, is there anything that allows you to keep the outer shell and redo the noggin' saver stuff on the inside to keep it 'new'? |

Northeast Ohio | Chris, some of the liners in helmets are removable. If it is, you may be able to order replacement parts from your helmet manufacturer. I typically just buy new helmets. |

New Bohemia, VA | I just like the looks of my old helmet, but its not comfortable for long rides. I've never heard of anyone replacing the entire guts and thought I'd ask. It's time for a new helmet. |

Mt. Vernon, WASH. | Rule of thumb, a helmet is 'servicable' for 5-7 years and then should be retired due to UVA/UVB degradation and newer technology always coming down the pike-
If ya like old timey, stick with your present helmet and go buy a Road King |

New Bohemia, VA | thanks for the "lesson". just curious as to if this was possible. Got my EXO-100 for road use, just like my Victory helmet that I've grown attached and have personalized. I'm ready to dump it and start over. I guess the bottomline is "NO". |

Flowery Branch Ga | The stuff on the inside is glued in. Maybe find new stuff, form it to fit your head and glue in the new stuff. Then you would have a "custom made" helmet. Mine looks like styrofoam, FWIW.

You can replace the liner part that snaps into the EXO-100. The Styrofoam part stays in the helmet. I snap out the liner and wash it from time to time. We all should.
The same shell is used for both the Large and Extra Large size. The difference is the liner installed.
My local store...MotoLiberty orders the liners for me. After three years and some really hot summers (washed at least once a week) I have worn two out.

Woodland Hills, CA | My SO tells me I have a bit of a helmet fetish....I currently own 10 of them (and have given away many more). But its not that I like collecting helmets, its that I spent years trying to find one that fits properly AND comfortably. Must have a strange shaped head. Anyway, about 3 years ago I finally found THE helmet; fit perfectly and was comfortable all day. And what happened? The company discontinued it! So far I have gotten by by replacing the liner and ear pads, but every year I attend the International Motorcycle Show and spend at least half my time looking for another helmet. Unfortunately, I have yet have yet to find a replacement that works for me.
I agree that a helmet should be replaced every 3 to 5 years (assuming it has had no impacts in that time), and I am due. But for now, I just continue to replace the innards and look for a replacement. My advice; if you find something that you just love, buy 2!
Anyway, if you find something that you really love, buy 2. |

Flowery Branch Ga | Wizard523-----I have the same problem(s?). I used a non Dot for a while until it got to be to big of a hassle. I have since found that the Zox brand half helmet fit ALMOST as good.
