Here a weak ago I drilled a 1/2" hole in my S1L1 baffle's trying to make them a better sounding exhaust.

Sounded good in the garage put the end caps on and rode the bike. Felt like I waisted my time drilling the

hole. Pulled the end caps this morning and went chasing and gee a good deep throaty sound. Came home

and drilled out the the three pressed in nut bushing. Easy job and now they sound good. End caps will

suit up and bolts will be un seen.

I did the same with mine when I had my 08 with Big Honkers. I also painted the inside of the tip, BBQ grill black.

I am thinking about doing that same thing. Previous owner did a bit of cutting on the end cap and drilled a few holes. I just have the stock exhaust on my 08 and wouls like a bit deeper of a sound. I think I will try this, looks good to. Did you drill into the end of the muffler or right into the centre of the pipe using a 18" drill bit????

That step drill you see in the photo. Every place sells them. I drilled threw the boss's where you run the bolts in on the side of the end cap. Maybe a 5/16 drill bit would work. If you look close at where the three bolts screws into the side of the end cap you can see there a little lip. Once those three are drilled out the center just slides out with a tap of a hammer. Then I went to the hardware store and back where the little bins are in the nut and bolts I looked for whats called speed nuts 75 cents a peace and new 1/4-20 bolts
