Sounds very cool... Pics would be great to see. I went on a slightly less drive just last month, 2750 miles. From Palm Springs to NW Oregon, to Boise Idaho, through Salt Lake City, to St. George UT, then back home.
I used this bag from T-Bags: ATV100B Deluxe ATV Rack Bag Front - Black $34.95. http://www.tbags.com/CloseOutDetail.aspx?ID=69&SelectedCat=17 This bag fits PERFECTLY between the hand grabs and is secured by three straps on each side.
Here is what it looked like on my Nessy:
I was able to pack 7 days worth of clothes, my notebook computer, tons of water (as you can see), and other goodies. It was a great trip. I did 649 miles in one day! |

Tons o' fun! Lots of pics and memories. My Nessy did such a great job - ZERO issues. I got between 43 and 50 mpg. The bag has a handle which has it's own litte storage area so while on the bike it looks very clean. I packed a bunch of stuff and the two end smaller bags held my toothbrush, etc. and wet vest / rain vest. |

| I just brought theTriple chrome v wing rack also. I was very concerned that it look small from the pics. I have not had it installed yet. Cyclops could do a better job by clearly indicating the size and the types of bags which would work well with the product. I do not want to be overly critical though as they are excellent craftsmen and very responsive. I am nervous as it is a high end product but a necessary one in my opinion. |

Posts: 3006 San Antonio, TX | How big a bag one can strap on a luggage rack is very subjective. I do not have the paperwork in front of me but I think the Maximum Weight Limit on the victory rack is officially 15 pounds.
CycleOps USA has built a better rack for many reasons. The best one might be that the base of their rack does a better job spreading the load on the Visions trunk lid.
If you are going to buy a trunk rack I would recommend any rack that CycleOps makes over the product that Victory sells.

Hi Nate. If you do a search you'll find I do give the dimensions with an overlay of my racks superimposed on an OEM one. There are also a few places around with the L X W posted. I do all I can with the time I have and unfortunately I don't have the kind of time to source out the gazzillions bags out there and make a list of what will fit and what won't. Heck, it wouldn't leave you guys with anything to surf the net for while your bikes are laid up for the iwnter.
Besides, anyone needs to know such thing? I'm only a call, PM, or e-mail away.
And on to Steve... thanks for the support Steve and I'm very happy to hear it is all you were hoping for. Enjoy your trip and know I'm here when you need me.

Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | btw Will i LOVE my black rack i got 2 days ago from you guys! just been to busy to post anything. I think the rack looks WAY BETTER in person that it does in photos. i was afraid how it would look on my trunk, but even my girlfriend says it actually looks GOOD ! also i wanted to add your instructions are better than victorys'.. i was having slight issues with getting my rack to line up with the drilled holes. then my girlfriend found your instructions on the floor and as soon as i read them everything was mounted in seconds.. |

| Steve, you're not worried about the weight of that big bag on the trunk ? I'm not trying to be a smarta--, (unlike my last comment ), but there would be a fair bit of weight once that bag's full, wouldn't there ????

Posts: 2300 Georgia, west of Atlanta | No, Will ( CycleOps ) used 1/2" diameter mounting legs and wider leg pads so no concern there, plus the bag I use is for clothing only, it'll never weigh more than 20 lbs. I've carried 35 lbs on my Harley's luggage rack and it or the top of either tour pack dosen't seem stronger or weaker than the other............. |
